The Heat Is On

Today's blog title was Tomasz message for the day, also Glenn Frey's back in 1985 {i}. So much so, Tomasz got his turds in a wangle... I mean... words in a tangle.

Firstly he was talking about "peat heating" instead of "heat peaking": Although if he went to Cors Caron, Rannoch Moor or Bleaklow, he'd be right either way! Our hapless hero then couldn't get "worringly" out. Bless you Tomasz, just practise saying: "Worst week of the week award, awarded once a week weekly on a week by week basis".

Then the gallery snubbed him at 13:56, gave His Loveliness a good giggle though.

{ii}

Memories of a classic Tomasz moment came flooding back with the mention of Glastonbury, especially the mention of mudbaths. Will he invite for us one, like he did last year?

{i} He's another one who has gone quiet, hasn't he.
{ii} Ta to Terratec and DVD Fever for the clips.

Gin clear

A fertile week for us Schaffanatics in the entertainment stakes, although I'm concerned that these consecutive shifts are having a detrimental effect on our Tomasz. Whilst are skies are "gin-clear", his diction was not always so-- sounded like he had been drinking gin perhaps? {i}

Oof, slight case of talking broken biscuits there: I think it was because he mentioned the dread S-word-- that flustered him! Not to worry, because Tomasz is always cute when he gets flustered. Given the number of live broadcasts the BBC weather folk have to do, coupled with their long/erratic shifts, mistakes will understandably creep in-- I suspect the gallery may have been giving him GBH of the lugholes there too {ii}

Earlier we did have a nicely cheeky quip from Tomasz. He was rightly concerned about getting the tone right, considering events in Cumbria; but I think he's provided some light relief from that horrors, without being tactless. On the 10:57 bulletin The newsreader handed over with: "Let's see what the weather is doing with Tomasz". To which he replied: "The weather isn't doing anything with me!". Bless.

Of course warm weather has other hazards attached to it. Back by ever popular demand...

Now if Tomasz got the term Betty Swallocks into a forecast, I would be impressed. Hmmm, The Schaf with Betty Swollocks-- ooh! {iii}

In other news, Tomasz has "had [his] head 'shaved'...almost not quite...within BBC grade of allowance lol" (quoth Twitter). BBC grade allowance eh-- too late for Peter Gibbs of course [miaow]. Given that Tomasz's hair was fairly closely-crop beforehand, I suspect Tomasz has gone for Geordie dreadlocks.

Finally, a picture of Tomasz's mean machine. Lucky saddle.

{i} I'm joking by the way, libel lawyers
{ii} Thanks to Toptellyfan for that upload... just noticed Terratec has uploaded it too-- thanks both!
{iii} Time for a lie-down again

Here's the weather... with weather presenter of the year!

The Schaf was back on our screens tonight, rightly feted by his news-reading colleagues-- made Tomasz do his endearing laugh! Although he was told off by the gallery gophers for not commenting about his award... oof, no pleasing some folk eh? I don't think any comment is needed-- Tomasz is the best! We already knew that of course, but still it's nice to have it officially recognised.

From the BBC News Channel, 7:30pm...

Nice navy/violetish combo going on there!

Thanks as ever to Terratec for his cinematic chronicling of the best weatherman on television. We can't emphasise that enough, can we?

Here with some sunshine...

...is Tomasz! This was Sophie Raworth's fitting introduction for The Schaf on News At One today. He certainly was very phlegmatic today; with a lovely broad grin on his bestubbled face, permeating every broadcast he did today. It may be chilly out, but Tomasz's radiant smile is enough to warm the cockles {i}

Today's mystery, is what was distracting Tomasz at midday on the BBC News Channel? I suspect logorrhoea from the gallery was to blame. You can't put Shufflepants off his stroke!

I just hope Tomasz doesn't get the throat infection that Alex Deakin is currently struggling with, croaked his way through Janice Long's show this morning!

Thanks to Terratec, for the video

{i} Of our hearts. You are a filthy lot.

Tomasz and his pocket rocket

Hilarious weather forecast just now on News Channel.

Introducing the weather forecast before 11am, Simon called Tomasz a "pocket rocket"! This prompted Tomasz to laugh heartily: "I must think of something to call you next time-- there are a lot things I could call you-- a lot of things". But not on-air presumably, we don't want a Joan Rivers incident.

Simon and Tomasz thinking of pet names for each now... I was being facetious in my last post, but I'm starting to wonder now.
