Very silly season

The News At One finished with a story about a stunt pilot, whose plane's wing fell off mid-flight. Thankfully the pilot escaped via parachute, and unharmed. "A lucky man" commented Sophie Raworth, before handing over to Tomasz! {iv}

Lucky indeed... I'm pleased he was back today and phlegmatic as ever. I'm also so heartened to see so many people posting so many supportive and forgiving posts on his Facebook profile, Twitter and elsewhere (including mardy papers' websites). Thankfully any Angry Of Mayfair comments have been extremely rare... if anything it's boosted his popularity! {iii}

I extend a big thanks to readers of this blog, who have rallied round Tomasz to give him supportive words on said outlets. Thumbs up to all of you.

Also it appears that his the story has gone worldwide-- you can tell it's silly-season! To be fair Tomasz, he does get global exposure: Metaphorically on the BBC World News and literally with numerous repostings of his Attitude shoot on the world-wide web! I know from the stats I get for this blog, I have traffic from all over the world; not just the UK, Poland and Canada. I think the incident will seal his status as international legend-- rightly so.

Sadly some people aren't impressed, are rather keen to shit-stir. Worst offender in my view, was today's Metro: "The outlook for this weatherman is bleak", with picture caption stating: "Mr Schafernaker can expect a frosty recpetion at work today". Laugh, I almost did.

This article is so crap it's good...

Below that was outrage about clothes GMTV presenters wear. Ye gods. Tomasz accidentally swearing on-air, an outrageous affront; Third World daily death-toll a mere statistic, it would appear.

Amusingly the BBC has put the video on its own Youtube channel, so perhaps they've finally seen the lighter side of it too {ii}. As I mentioned earlier, he was on the telly today, impeccably behaved... as was friend Simon McCoy. I wonder what he was referring to at the beginning of this [LOL], Murphy's law et al.

I'm sure many a reader wouldn't mind being given a finger by Tomasz. Oof, did I really just type that? 1609 visitors for yesterday, probably the record for my 11 months doing this!

By popular request...

Now that Tomasz is a true global star {i}, I hope my blog can do him justice still! Thanks to Terratec for the video upload, by the way

{i} Well he was mentioned on the Wright Stuff, after all
{ii} It does air Eastenders several times a week!
{iii} Denise Welsh mouthed a four-letter insult, Coleen called someone a "slag" and Lynda Bellingham once said "bollocks"-- all on Loose Women. Those ladies are still on it, as is the show... even with Joan Rivers's best attempt to derail it with her Russell Crowe comment.
{iv} I blame Emma Jesson, with her numerous appearances on TV's Naughiest Blunders. Bye-bye!

Tomasz throwing some shapes

I'm indebted to Philip Ryder for pointing this out! I bought Attitude this month, no sign of Tomasz at the 16th anniversary bash of said magazine. But what do we have here at 5:09-5:10?

Tomasz for Strictly I say, looking a treat in that black t-shirt.I can only do big fish little fish cardboard box. I certainly don't know any of these dances...

What a load of ballots

Sadly last night was a Schafless night on the BBC front. Intriguingly there was a party to celebrate Attitude's 16th birthday, so I suspect His Loveliness was giving it large and indulging in canapes/fine beverages there. Next month's mag will tell, I imagine.

Of course there's only one big issue tonight: Not whether it's a bruising for Brown, calamity for Clegg or a comedown for Cameron {i}... but whether the divine Tomasz will be back on our screens, or talking to the poptastic Janice Long?

In other news, Tomasz has tweaked his website once more. If you look at the top-right corner of this page, it tells you when he's next on {ii} Doesn't appear he will be on this evening, but I'm ever vigilant!

{i} For political balance: Losing for Lucas, sour for Salmond, pleasure for Pearson, grounding for Griffin, jolting for Jones, hopelessness for Hope, routing for Robinson, adversity to Adams; or no empathy for Empey nor yearning for Yaqoob.
{ii} He's also added to the weather gallery.

Dusty dusk

A most curious day Schaffanatics... Tomasz was due on today, but did not materialise on the BBC airwaves. However a Tweet posted by the good man himself, informs us: "Had a real fun and good photoshoot today! :-D".

I suspect it may be for Attitude, since Dr Christian {i} was tweeting about a photoshoot he did with said magazine yesterday ("not wearing many clothes"). Could be for Cosmo, on their regular Everyman shoots {iii}. Or perhaps the rumoured calendar (if that's an in-joke, I have a feeling it will become a self-fulfilling prophesy!)

Of course the big news today is not the barely distinguishable (or distinguished) party leaders tentatively toughing it out on the telly tonight; but of volcanic ash ejected from Eyjafjallajokull {ii}. The dust, currently drifting 20,000ft in the atmosphere, ought to produce a dramatic sunset and/or sunrise over the coming hours-- the 'cinematic effect'.

A delve into the archives: Tomasz getting a tickly cough on last year's vernal equinox. He needs something soothing to swallow, poor luv

^With thanks to Terratec

{i} Mr Jesson of Embarrasing Bodies/getting male sports teams to strip naked for tenuous reasons fame-- also writes health column in Attitude.
{ii} Easy for you to say.

An excellent TRIC

I'm sure you'll recall that The Schaf was nominated for a Television & Radio Industry Club (TRIC) award recently, for best weather presenter. I'm delighted to say Tomasz won, and rightly so! Photobucket

I'm sure, like me, you want to give him a warm hand.
PhotobucketPhotobucket

His rivals were Carol Kirkwood (who's won it twice before) and Peter Cockcroft (me neither... hardly Jon Mitchell!). However Tomasz deserves it on his own merit: For his engaging forecasts, delightful personality, charity work and being "piękny". I think the Attitude shoot may have swung it as well [haha]

Here is Tomasz collecting his award from Brendan Cole (he off Strictly Coming Dancing). More photos on Facebook

Update:
Footage of The Schaf collecting his award-- lovely gleeful run and acceptance speech... plus Tomasz's own blog on the award

Speaking of Attitude, our hero was in it again this month {i}: He attended Gareth Thomas's coming-out party, organised by said magazine-- it was held at the Movida Club in London's Soho.

Tomasz clearly getting himself acquainted with his fellow cover-stars (Jonny somebody?) {iii}...

And with the man of the moment, Gareth Thomas {ii}

However this (highlighted) bit in the write-up, amused me.

I really hope they are being wry there! Nothing "strangely popular" about Tomasz at all-- he's beautiful inside and out-- plus he's got oodles of charisma! No wonder everyone wants to know him. Although they write in an above picture-caption, that he's the "lovely" Tomasz Schafernaker, so we'll let the author off.

Finally a bit of Tomasz on Saturday night-- wouldn't you just! From 11:56pm. "Gin clear skies too!"
Thanks Terratec365

{i} April's Attitude is out in the shops now
{ii} The shaved eyebrow strikes again! Tomasz is 5'8" and Gareth Thomas is 6'3", in case you're wondering!
{iii} Johnny Partridge I'm told, Christian from Eastenders. See here, Ryan Price's lovely website

Tomasz, four poofs and piano

I have failed in my duty as chief Schaffanatic. On Jonathan Ross last night, Tomasz featured that photograph of Tomasz Schafernaker-- how did I miss that? Thanks to fellow Schaffanatics for pointing it out though, I'm indebted.

First up he showed Ian McCaskill and Michael Fish sporting distressed hair, glasses like re-entry shields and rather naff clothing.

Then Wossy showed the picture of Tomasz from Attitude much to the delight of the audience, and moreso of said piano-based quartet-- who nodded appreciatively ("only a matter of time", said Wossy!). However he did have the cheek to nick my joke about high pressure in the south, I want commission for that-- I am an ersatz Barry Cryer after all. Shame JR couldn't have made a comment about what a lovely bloke Tomasz is too, but hey-ho.

Oh well, it makes a change from JR smarming with Rick Gervais and Lee Evans for the upmteenth time, or asking David Cameron whether he pollutes himself over Margaret Thatcher. When Wossy showed that pic of Tomasz, I wasn't thinking of abusing myself over the former Prime Minister, that's for sure! Let's say those Attitude photos of The Schaf have a pavlovian effect on me now...

^Thanks to Terratec for the video!

Speaking of which, will His Loveliness appear on Country Tracks tomorrow, we can but hope...

Update:
Tomasz said of his mention on Wossy: "Loving the fact Jonathan Ross found a moment to mention us weatherpeople hehehe :-) Thanks JR!cheeky man you are though." (via Facebook)

Bits and bobs

Cześć and greetings! All quiet on the Tomasz front today, so a few bits and bobs of minor interest.

Firstly we may see some more photos of Tomasz in next month's Attitude, albeit fully clothed. Tomasz attended Attitude's party for Gareth Thomas, at the Movida club in London. Although I don't normally indulge in Attitude (this month obviously an exception!), it may be worth buying March's edition, to see how well received Tomasz's feature was.

Secondly the skillful Terratec365 has done a fun montage of all the BBC Weather presenters-- he's saved the best until last!

{i}Probably the puzzling, but now clichéd, cries of "I didn't realise how hot he was". To which I normally reply: "What planet have you been" or "there's a lot more to his attractiveness than just his physique!". Some people are płytki [chuckle]: Of course we are true Schaffanatics here, we adore him not just for getting his clothes off-- his buff physique is merely the icing on the cake!

Strictly Tomasz

The latest rumour on the internet is, that the BBC are angling to get The Schaf on the next series of Strictly Coming Dancing. I think that's wishful thinking, however it could become a self-fulfilling prophesy-- especially if I mention it on here!

I wonder what sort of dancing Tomasz is good at? Foxtrot or cha-cha... or horizontal [fnar-fnar]. Imagine him bugling in spandex, energetically contorting himself into various positions! It could go either way with Craig and Bruno: Either they will be spellbound by Tomasz, or they will be jealous and catty. I'm personally in the former camp [haha].

However I suddenly feel like burning a copy of the Daily Hate Mail, the little proverbial-stirrers. A mean-spirited article about Tomasz here...

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1243657/BBC-weatherman-Tomasz-Schafernaker-shocks-bosses-posing-gay-magazine-skimpy-shorts.html

I note it's an "insider", which is typically hack-speak for a ficitious source. I do hope the story isn't true, and that Tomasz wouldn't be in trouble for doing that photoshoot. He's not exactly Frank Bough is he?

I also hope it doesn't mean the end to Tomasz's wonderfully attired Country Tracks forecasts-- since we know precisely what figure his casuals are hugging onto now {i}. If anything it will increase viewing figures, I've lost count of people who said they are going to pay more attention to him now! {ii}

So ignore the Daily Wail, BBC bosses! Please no high-handed treatment of The Schaf, otherwise I'll be writing an 'Angry of Mayfair' letter, to be delivered through your window-- attached to a brick {iii}. Or possibly just a slightly plaintive tome to Jezza Vine with his Points of View {iv}

There are worse behaved telly presenters out there. If this bloke can get a job presenting at the BBC...

{i} Which is why I don't believe his colleagues knew nothing of physique-- didn't some of them go on that bike-ride together? With Tomasz in lycra?
{ii} He won't be our little secret anymore. His loss of cultdom is a small price to pay for those photos though.
{iii} Note to lawyers: That was a sardonic joke, I do not condone any sort of malicious communication or criminal damage
{iv} Sir Terry didn't get into bother with those trousers, did he? Or Janet & John stories.

The second coming

First off: I want to say welcome {i} to my new followers, I'm very honoured that you have come on board! Hope you continue to enjoy the blog.

I have Tomasz's full Attitude interview (buy it now!) and accompanying photos for your satisfaction/inspection/rumination/cogitation/titilation/self-pollution below. I confess that I have used the dodge tool on Photoshop on the shorts... fancy making him wear dark-coloured shorts!

NB: You can magnify the photos by left-clicking on them

I'm glad that when he gets into trouble with producers, they are very forgiving! Rightly so, he's star... if he ever isn't forgiven, being slapped on the legs is the only punishment suitable.

I take my hat off to Tomasz though. I can walk briskly for 15 miles, doesn't bother me-- run for 15 yards it knackers me! Probably because I'm 6'2" of chewed string [ha]

My favourite part of the interview, is where he reveals he has lots of stamina. I bet he does... I nearly fainted when I read that! Ooh, suit me.

We just need him to do a John Andresen shoot now.

{i} Or should that be: "Witamy"? Or "wilkommen", "bienvenue", "velkommen", "croeso", "bienvenido", "welkom", failt", "Vítáme te" or "bem-vindos"

Tomasz has Attitude

Words fail me on this, I'd never thought I'd see the day-- I almost had a heart attack when I saw this... well I certainly hurt myself [wink #1]

Tomasz has posed for Attitude magazine, in their new "Active" section. Even better than I could ever imagine! Of course regular visitors to this blog knew he was hiding something special under his rugby shirts on Country Tracks, we didn't realise how special

Tomasz: Pani uroda mnie olsniewa, jestem wprost bez tchu jestes bardzo przystojny; swietnie wygladasz, swietnie wygladasz, masz ladne oczy {ii}

I'm heavily indebted to Ryan Price for that initial pic and the poster who made me aware of the intial link-- I am inordinately happy. The Jan edition was still out in the newsagents today, I can't wait until Feb hits the shelves. I wonder what secret Tomasz is hiding eh [wink #2]? I hope there are pics like that, or a nice interview!

Never mind a Semillion {i}, I went all Ken & Kenneth when I saw that. I feel ugly and inadquate all of a sudden.

Bless you Tomasz!

{i} More like a pan-handle.
{ii} Linguaphone, eat your eyes out.
