Sadly last night was a Schafless night on the BBC front. Intriguingly there was a party to celebrate Attitude's 16th birthday, so I suspect His Loveliness was giving it large and indulging in canapes/fine beverages there. Next month's mag will tell, I imagine.
Of course there's only one big issue tonight: Not whether it's a bruising for Brown, calamity for Clegg or a comedown for Cameron {i}... but whether the divine Tomasz will be back on our screens, or talking to the poptastic Janice Long?
In other news, Tomasz has tweaked his website once more. If you look at the top-right corner of this page, it tells you when he's next on {ii} Doesn't appear he will be on this evening, but I'm ever vigilant!
{i} For political balance: Losing for Lucas, sour for Salmond, pleasure for Pearson, grounding for Griffin, jolting for Jones, hopelessness for Hope, routing for Robinson, adversity to Adams; or no empathy for Empey nor yearning for Yaqoob. {ii} He's also added to the weather gallery.
Dzien dobry, guten Abend, bonsoir, god kveld and ey up mi ducks.
Nothing new on the Tomasz front on the airwaves for a while. So I've delved through the archives, found this clip of Tomasz cutely describing a cool night {i}...
His prolonged disappearence is even more unsettling and mysterious than Ashes To Ashes. If you want my theory: The disfigured policeman is actually Gene Hunt, '1983' is limbo and all its habitants are dead in the 'real world'. The Hunt we know represents 'life/salvation', Keats is 'death/damnation'.
As I type, an update on The Schaf! Or more accurately Tomasz has updated his site, a cracking new photo of him on the homepage. Feast you eyes on his. I lost ten minutes doing so.
Plus a message on Fbk from His Loveliness: "Hello all, I have been doing other things recently but back on screen next week. See you then! PS: My website has been refreshed (again), new stuff on the way!"
I imagine he's been busy preparing for his sundry bike-rides. Tomasz donning lycra and training hard-- makes me want to challenge myself {ii}
{i} What's that Skippy? "I'm starting to scrape the barrel now"? {ii} Remember to donate for Tomasz's bike-ride from London to Paris. I would like to donate more, but my finances are tighter than a Freemason's handshake. http://www.action.org.uk/sponsor/schafernaker
First the latter: Tomasz reports on Twitter that he has this weekend off, so no Country Tracks performance from him this Sunday. I shall rectify this with an archive performance later!
I note somebody on Twitter called this site "slightly weird" [sharp intake of breath, chuckle]-- I think post-modern is the term that Tweeter is looking for! What's weird about about worshipping The Schaf hmm? Obliquely he's calling the dozens of Schaffanatics who visit this site, watch his Youtube vids, sigh when he comes on telly and write rightfully complimentary stuff on 'his' Facebook pages weird! Eee, I don't know...
Then again, everybody is somebody's else weirdo. I think we're all weird, because we all have our own quirks and foibles; which means being weird, is being normal. Oof, not thought it through have I?
So the good news! Tomasz has proved how amazing he is once more, by setting up his own website. Feast your eyes on this...
I'm glad to see Tomasz likes Norway {i}-- I have a strong hankering to go there. More impressive is Tomasz's artwork, he really is a talented artist... plus some great photos of Gdansk. Eell we wouldn't expect anything less would we? He is the best thing to come out the Długie Probrzeże, after all.
Plus there's the story of how he become a weather forecast and meteorlogist. Also details of his exercise regime, diet and musical tastes... I let him off for the prominence of R&B [shudders], for the fact he has included Scatman John! {ii}
I'm sure like me, you will be eagerly monitoring Tomasz's site for future developments. It probably mean that fewer will visit this site though [sniff, melancholic chortle]... but who I am to argue with The Schaf
An archive Country Tracks clip, from July 2009. I love the blue shirt, or rather the isobars behind it! Nice hand action and sound effect near the beginning, and he ought to wear those trousers more often too...
Thanks to pj8210 for the video
{i} Great culture, lovely language, rugged/beautiful landscape and rugged/beautiful men... what's not to like eh? God kveld to any folk from Norge who may be reading. {ii} This will stick in your head for the rest of the week. RIP John... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEVUKofgNrU
