The Schaf has done a question and answer session on the BBC website, on snowy weather. It may surprise readers of the Daily Express to know, that we're not all going to freeze to death in -20C icestorms and ten feet of blizzards, caused by Princess Diana's assassins... or something like that.

Falling for Falleng
The Schaf is now in full flow {i} on BBC national weather, regularly appearing. I have couple of clips here, which have been kindly provided by Mike (what a decent cove), from last week:
^ Possibly the first time icing-sugar has come up in a weather forecast!
Chaos caused by snow? Anyone would think it's winter or something. The big thaw may have happened over the weekend, with temperatures round my way having risen 13 degrees; however other parts of the globe, aren't so lucky.
Here's Tomasz issuing a warning about Cyclone Falleng, heading for Madagascar:

Coming in clumps
That's how The Schaf described the freakish (for this time of year) snow showers, that are blighting the British Isles at present, Tomasz giving us a good ten inches in some areas {i}
Amusingly the weather radar showed snow over London on 10:30 broadcast, yet there was no snow at BBC TV Centre-- "they [Met Office] obviously didn't get my text" Tomasz dryly quipped. And you know if the snow is becomes bad in the UK, when London gets it [wink]!
Especially freaky are the temperatures experienced with this weather. The current record for the UK's lowest temperature, is -27.2C. Tomasz fascinatingly informed us, that we could see temperatures dipping to almost -30C in the Scottish Highlands over the next few nights. It will be so cold, you won't be able to tell the difference between Angus and Agnes. For the rest of us, a "positively balmy" -10C!
If there's a record to be broken, I like to Tomasz will be the one to announce it. I hope he's right, we don't want frosty Scots writing equally frost letters to a certain newspaper.
His Loveliness raises a good question there, about "cats and dogs". Intriguingly there's little evidence as to the origin of the phrase: The most likely, is that in the filthy streets of C17th and 18th England, heavy rain would occasionally carry along dead animals and other debris. Whether that phrase and notion could be applied to snowstorms or not-- answers on a postcard!
Tomasz told us it will feel frigid with this biting temperatures. If there's one cure for frigidity, it's watching (or listening on Radio 4 at 12:57 GMT!) to The Schaf {ii}
Thankfully my corner of Notts has seen only light snowfall, no more than inch accumulated-- main roads are clear too. Temperatures are still low by day, barely nudging 0 degrees, dropped to -5C last night! Of course people reading this in Canada, Finland, Russia, Tibet, Alaska, Iceland (lucky you, with your geothermal heating) and Norway-- you'll be thinking it's "positively balmy"!

Good news, bad news
I've looked at the telly guides for tomorrow, and there is no Country Tracks! F1 and the Politics Show instead
.
Shame really, I have been 'preparing myself' for Tomasz CT performance.
Good news is, there will still be a five-day forecast with Tomasz, in his regular dapper and smart attire. I imagine it will be after the Politics Show, or possibly within it... I remember a couple of five-day forecasts being done in the PS studio.
Further good news is the ever-superb Terratec has managed to get not one, but two, uploaded forecasts for today!
"Here he is" at 10:56. Although (shoot me now) I like those "abysmal" temperatures-- lovely and fresh!
Look the muck in there^. Although Tomasz commendably had sympathy for his friends in Scotland, when he predicted snow for them.
And "not bad" at 13:58:
I do like the tie, complements his cudowne oka wonderfully. Meanwhile on Famousmales Forum, a gentleman called Eattom reports: "Tomasz goes to the same gym as me; I see him a lot. His legs are just as fit as the rest of him-- and he seems like a thoroughly nice chap"

Spirits and the spirited
The Schaf was back adorning our screens today, albeit with a bleak outlook for the weather-- more hibernal conditions on the way. However "Shufflepants" gave a wonderfully spirited performance, which lightened any grim prognoses {i}
Spirited is the word: Halfway through Tomasz's missive, there was a clattering noise in the background; perhaps Tomasz was being plagued by spirits, and suffering poltergeist activity? It wasn't Simon McCoy this afternoon, so we can't pin that on him... perhaps it was some (still) outraged Scot protesting at Tomasz's mention of cold weather there {ii}
I was half expecting Tomasz to make a comment, but he wasn't phased by the poltergeist activity and didn't have the willies put him this time. Although he is worried about cycling in these hibernal conditions may do to him, see his latest blog post. You know you want to.

{i} He curiously didn't mention frost in Vale of York or snow on the Llyn Peninsula, perhaps he has a new place of choice: Perhaps he'll talk of chilling around The Mendips instead or something.
{ii} Update on the noise, quoth Tomasz on Twitter: "Been asked a lot about the noise on the BBC1 lunch weather: I think keyboard+mouse fell off Kate's news desk...what a bang it was LOL."
