Bliss

The title is how Tomasz describes today's weather. Although warm weather is not my bag, there was 47% humidity today, so at least a fresh breeze; however photograph of Tomasz, more than compensated.





As one Tweeter had it, "check out those guns"... yes always nice to see *those* biceps {i} and *that* cheeky smile. The eagle-eyed amongst you will notice that in Tomasz's shades, he has his legs out for us as well. Bliss indeed.

On a sad note, I'm sorry to report the sudden passing away of Andrew Reeves last night, who had set up the Bring Back Tomasz Schafernaker page on Facebook. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.

Pausing for Tomasz

The Schaf is so worthy of worship, that Maxane Mawhinney "paused" for a weather update from His Loveliness. He was looking classy today; in a snazzy blue-and-white tie, a neat layer of stubble and a suit clinging to his biceps. More impressive was Tomasz's array of hand and finger movements to demonstrate weather-patterns, I can just imagining Tomasz hand-jiving.



And another one from Terratec (you're just too good!). Tomasz didn't squint hard enough at his feedback; almost mistook Wales for Northern Ireland, so he did. Not to worry, we are hearing the return of Tomasz's favourite word for autumn/winter-- it's "chilly" out.

A warning for tomorrow though (!), from His Loveliness

‎On Country Tracks or Weather For The Week Ahead this weekend...standard clothes (approved by BBC) for that particular weather broadcast...as always.

Yes, quite right: Dinner jacket, and don't show too much neck either. Can't be reminding jealous blokes and assorted Angry of Mayfairs, what a stunning physique you have Tomasz.

As it happens, there is no Country Tracks tomorrow, because of Rememberance Sunday celebrations: So I imagine Tomasz will appear before Formula 1, to give us the five-day forecast in his suit and tie. Well we can't have the Daily Mail having another thromby, can we. They'll be calling for him to wear a mask next.

Tomasz's flirting

Terratec to thank for the following double-bill. First off Simon McCoy wished Tomasz a cheery good morning, no persiflage these days; understandable given past events, but shame really.

Still we had Tomasz with a nice layer of stubble and talking about temperatures not being way above normal, but "waaaaaaaay" above average-- that's emphasis for you. On a shallower note; is it my imagination, or is Tomasz's suit struggling to contain his biceps these days?

Later on we had superb onomatopoeia from Tomasz: "Miserly, murky and mild" conditions-- so poetic. In another forecast, he talked of air-systems "flirting" with the UK!



Certainly plenty of fieldfares came in around my way the other Sunday-- feasting on the berry bushes along the Grantham Canal. The number of fieldfares, redwing and waxwings coming in from Nordic countries, depends on the berry crop up there. If there's has been a low yield (owing to a harsh autumn), they flock here in greater numbers.

Fieldfares make a "chack-chack" call rather like a football rattle, and are usually in flocks of a dozen to twenty. Redwings are smaller than our song thrushes, and have a distinctive white line across the eye. Waxwings are rare, but are the prettiest: Mostly pink with a distinctive crest; with black, white and red wings.

So keep an eye and ear out, when walking near berry bushes in the coming weeks!

Not looking dreadful

The weather may be "dreadful" across the British Islands today, but Tomasz certainly does not look dreadful-- far from it! He can always be relied on, to brighten up the dreariest of days (especially if you live in Gwynedd and Ceredigion), even if his biceps scoop up more rain from the south-west. Least we got a cute chuckle and smile at the end.



Now as our Terratec comments, does Tomasz appearing at midday (after a break of a few days), mean that we will get a long-awaited Country Tracks appearance this Sunday? We can but hope.

Félicitations!

I'm very glad to report The Schaf made it to Paris-- what a star-- such an amazing achievement. To quote Dan Corbett, the finishing numbers {i}:
76miles+85miles+116miles+55miles=332miles... over four days! I'm exhausted just reading that.



I'm exceedingly happy for Tomasz, and it's only fitting he has raised so much for charity. He's very kindly supplied us with some pictures, all of which are adorable. I got so excited when I saw these, I had to chastise myself.

Firstly, I'm not sure whether Tomasz is paying tribute to Van Gogh (looks prettier than any of these plants) or Paula Ratcliffe here (well it would fertilise them)...



Unfortunately Tomasz got a bit of nasal sunburn on his travels, but he always looks hot. Strangely on Fbk, there was no shortage of volunteers to rub suncream in. Can't think why..



Then the end approached, although I didn't think his route took into the bowels of the Metro! I don't know about you, but I lost at leat five minutes looking at this photo. Can I apply to become his physio [deluded LOL]. Vous avez un physique tres séduisant, Tomasz-- ouais ouais!



Speaking of impressive phallic manifestations, Tomasz finished his ride in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, along with a thousand or so other brave souls.



Tomasz is now on the Eurostar home, hopefully getting some kip. It's only right I should leave the last word to him...

My last message from Paris: Can I thank everyone who sponsored me in these hard times. I've appreciated every penny. Thank you so much. All money will go to medical research and saving tiny lives. Pounds are still coming in but around £2700 so far. All The best! Tomasz

What a mouthful

Tomasz did something brave today, something lesser mortals wouldn't attempt to do, he trod where other angels would fear tred. Yes, he pronounced "Eyjafjallajökull", not once-- but twice!

Good on you Tomasz! I've often thought he must be talented with his tongue {i}. For those who are interested, the Eyjafjallajökull means "island-moutains-glacier". The volcano takes its name from the glacier it's underneath... or rather was, before the volcano vapourised it!

Despite Tomasz's Facebook concerns about its pronunciation, I think he got it right-- luckily Icelandic is a phonetic language (as opposed to semi-English, like English)Here's the correct pronunciation, as per the BBC website-- or a phonetic transcription

The other big news, is that warm weather is drifting up from Azores. There's no person better equipped than Tomasz, when it comes to showing an area of high-pressure thrusting up from the south-west.

Sadly (for me), temperatures are set to get to 20C. Not so bad in an air-conditioned office, but I don't like the thought of commuting, sweating like a pregnant nun. Least seeing Tomasz's suit struggling to contain his biceps, cheered me up. Dan Corbett with his picnic-baskets, doesn't quite compare.

Back on track

Cześć! Sorry for the tardiness of my posting, I was out yesterday. I was driving and hiking around the sun-kissed (!) slopes of the south Pennines yesterday-- still snow around the tops-- especially up Blackstone Edge (White House pub was aptly named!)

Anyway The Schaf was back in his rightful place yesterday, on Country Tracks. He was talking about moisture coming down from the sea; I certainly have moisture running down my leg watching the following, I hope it's sweat:



Tomasz told us that he could play around with all sorts of parameters for weather fanatics, and his parameters certainly looked impressive on that forecast for the Schaffanatics. His sleeves were tantalising folded back, to give us a cheeky peek of the legendary biceps-- niesamowity. Click on the pictures to magnify

Did anybody else get slightly excited by Tomasz's artistic hand movements towards the end of the forecast? He has technique. Not quite as impressive as his jeans, but nice trouser choice...

Of course a weather forecast from the Divine One, wouldn't be complete without out The Smile...

Craven Haven

Firstly "cześć" to my Polish visitors-- I see that Tomasz's appearance in Attitude has featured in the Polish media too! Please forgive my poor Polish, I'm trying to learn the basics (and perhaps more). So: Jak się masz?

In the next few weeks, the legendary John Craven will have been at the helm of Countryfile for an impressive 21 years! Countryfile started in August 1988: A few months into the programme, John Craven decided to finish his long run at Newsround {i}, so that he could front Countryfile-- and there he has remained!

A revamp of the show in 2009 saw Matt Baker and Julia Bradbury become the main presenters, with JC re-assigned to investigative features on the more serious issues facing rural areas.

What has this all got to do with The Schaf, I hear you cry: Well In August 2008, there was a special show to celebrate 20 years of Countryfile. Who better to do the weather forecast for it, than our very own Tomasz!

One of the biggest surprises for me this week, has been how many people didn't realise how buff Tomasz is. If you look beneath and between the oh-so-neatly folded sleeves, there were pretty strong hints even two years ago [haha]! It's definitely better that he wears jeans now though, to show off other parts too!

The second coming

First off: I want to say welcome {i} to my new followers, I'm very honoured that you have come on board! Hope you continue to enjoy the blog.

I have Tomasz's full Attitude interview (buy it now!) and accompanying photos for your satisfaction/inspection/rumination/cogitation/titilation/self-pollution below. I confess that I have used the dodge tool on Photoshop on the shorts... fancy making him wear dark-coloured shorts!

I'm glad that when he gets into trouble with producers, they are very forgiving! Rightly so, he's star... if he ever isn't forgiven, being slapped on the legs is the only punishment suitable.

I take my hat off to Tomasz though. I can walk briskly for 15 miles, doesn't bother me-- run for 15 yards it knackers me! Probably because I'm 6'2" of chewed string [ha]

My favourite part of the interview, is where he reveals he has lots of stamina. I bet he does... I nearly fainted when I read that! Ooh, suit me.

We just need him to do a John Andresen shoot now.

Rugby scrummy

No Tomasz on Country Tracks today {i}, so a rummage into the archives once more-- this time from August 2nd this year.

It's one of Tomasz's most popular Country Tracks performances: Perhaps owing to the flattering rubgy shirt he was wearing, showcasing his amazing biceps and the rest of his stunning physique.

Forget even Jonny Wilkinson, Tomasz knows how to wear a rugby shirt. I wonder if Tomasz has played ruggers in the past: I can see him being going for it in a scrum, being rough around the touchline and handling his tackle well {ii}. Well he is 'scrummy' after all {iii}.

He may have forecasted nice aestival weather that week, but I wasn't paying attention the charts. It was all about the arms (and the rest of him for that matter)

Country Backtrack

Country Tracks was on today, sadly no Tomasz for the five-day forecast-- instead Laura Tobin.

So a delve into the archives to compensate, from this August-- Tomasz once again wearing a very flattering and teasingly unbuttoned shirt. He certainly knows how to wear short-sleeves...
